Veronika Jonášová graduated from Prague’s Charles University in journalism and media studies and then did a year-long internship at Sciences Po, the Paris Institute of Political Studies. From 2002 she wrote for the broadsheet Lidové Noviny and from 2007 served for several years as a reporter and anchor at Czech Television. She made the short film In Prison with Mum (S mámou v base, 2014) and the feature-length documentary Mamma from Prison (Máma z basy, 2017). Her columns in Lidové Noviny were published in book form as Deník matky; she is also the author of the books Berlíňanka and Příběh Berlín (2017).
